Page trust

What is Page Trust?

Page Trust refers to the trust and reliability that search engines place on an individual page. Where Domain Trust looks at the authority of an entire domain, Page Trust focuses on the power of one URL.

In practice, this means that not only does your main domain have to be strong, but your individual pages must also exude sufficient authority and relevance to rank high.

Why is Page Trust important?

Search engines determine the ranking of a page largely based on relevance and reliability. A page with a high Page Trust:

  • More likely to rank on competitive keywords.
  • Crawls and indexes faster.
  • Exudes trust to users and search engines.

This means that even on a high-authority domain, single, low-trust pages can still perform poorly.

How is Page Trust built?

Page Trust is the result of several factors that together send a signal to Google:

  • Qualitative backlinks: links that point directly to the specific page.
  • Internal links: how well the page within your own website is supported by relevant internal links.
  • Content quality: the completeness, timeliness, and reliability of the content itself.
  • User signals: engagement, such as click-through, reading time, and low bounce rates.
  • Technical SEO: Speed, Mobile Usability, and Secure Connection (HTTPS).

Page Trust vs. Domain Trust

The difference is clear but important:

  • Domain Trust = how trustworthy and authoritarian your entire domain is seen.
  • Page Trust = how trustworthy an individual page is considered.

A strong domain authority helps new pages rank faster, but ultimately, each page must also build trust itself.

How to improve Page Trust

As an SEO specialist, I always recommend building Page Trust step by step:

  1. Earn targeted backlinks to the specific page.
  2. Optimise internal linking so that important pages are supported from other relevant content.
  3. Update and improve content regularly with up-to-date information and reliable sources.
  4. Use EEAT signals (experience, expertise, authority, reliability) to make content more credible.
  5. Monitor user experience and make sure the page is fast and easy to read.

Conclusion

Page Trust is an essential concept in SEO. It shows that not only your domain, but also every single page, must exude authority and reliability. By investing in quality backlinks, strong internal linking and content that really adds value, you build pages that Google trusts and that can rank high in a sustainable way.
